Pond Hockey

I had 2 games of pond hockey slated today with locations and back-up locations that had all been scouted, cleared, and even skated on earlier in the week... every location ended up completely melted. Some were from street salt runoff, some we couldn't explain.
Does anyone have a good beat on skateable (ie: at least 4" thick) ice?

I just finished a rink on my pond, smooth as glass thanks to a great flooding system. 7" thick, 40' x 80', but again, you would have to travel to Goderich Ontario.

Mirror Lake on OSU! You can't drown in that cause its only 4 feet deep. However, it might take longer to freeze due to the urine content........
