I'm making plans on moving to Columbus sometime after April and was wondering what locations would be good for me, I've looked at a few places online in the arena district but was wondering about surrounding areas to broaden my search.  I'm single with no children if that helps any lol.  I'm now able to move out of the southern tip and figured I would ask some of the locals for tips on moving up there.

Grandview is also a very nice place to live.  Lots of single folks.  Close to downtown, arena district and OSU.

If you like urban living, Grandview is nice.  Also the Arena district has condo's, pricey though.  German villiage if that is your cup a tea.  I don't like urban living though.  There are some nice suburbs surrounding Columbus as well: Dublin, Upper Arlington, Hilliard, Westerville, Grove City   big grin.

I'm a fan of Grove City stayed there a few times on a couple of trips, now that I'm home I can look around the suggested areas, just was looking for some good clean areas.

Grove City

You couldn't pay me to live in Grovetucky.   big grin

I always suggest the nothern suburbs of Columbus.  Westerville, Worthington, Dublin, and the Polaris area are all great places to live that have a great resale values if you are looking for a house or condo.  Also all of those areas have some of the best school districts in Ohio.  Again great for resale.  Plus all of those areas have tons of things to do and places to go to.  Tons of shopping, resturants, parks, etc...

Gahanna is good on the east side, but I'm not sure I would go any further east than that. Also, New Albany is pretty good.

But if you are young and single, don't move to the burbs. Downtown is where it is happening with the 18-28 crowd and I suggest Victorian Village, Italian Village and Short North for urban living. Grandview, however, is way nicer and it gets you just far enough from the city that its not as crazy. Also, if you want to live in straight up ghetto, check out Old Towne East. You'll find REALLY cheap rentals and such. But you MUST get a garage.

Also, Clintonville has a lot of younger people and is close to downtown. The problem with it though is that you have to go THROUGH campus to get to the Arena District and the other stuff that goes on downtown.

Took a little longer since a few plans changed, but it's now official I start moving August 31st, going to be living in Galloway.  Just in time to get settled in and ready to enjoy the CBJ, now I'll be able to go to more than just 1 game. Yahoo

If all goes well with the interview I just went on last week, I too will be relocating to Columbus. Looking for an apartment...I'm just out of college, so the city would be nice, but probably too pricey. I've looked online for apartments in Gahanna, Whitehall, and Reynoldburg. The job would be over at Port Columbus International.
