$10 Game Tickets?
«

Hey guys, I'm not able to get down to games too often and was planning on taking myself a whole group of friends (about 15) down to the game against Buffalo on Saturday. Turns out, they're out of anything of group plans. No Sky Terrace, nothing.
With that said, I know they have tickets for $10 that go on sale two hours before the game starts. Usually they have 500, but apparently there are just going to be 250. What do you think is a reasonable time to get there to pull 15 seats to the game? They don't have to be all next to each other or anything like that. Any help would be really appreciated.

Normally there is a good turn out of Buffalo fans in attendance when they are in town. I am sure that is why you are having a tough time getting tickets. A friend of mine works for the Nationwide as an usher and he works down at the will call area and helps keep the Green Seat lines in check. He has told me that there are normally a hand full of people in line when he gets to work (about 4 hours before the game) and they start really lining up about 2 hours before the game. But the line starts developing even earlier on weekend games.
So I would suggest having all 15 people in line 3-4 hours before the game starts if you want all 15 to get in.
Oh yeah and report back how the hell you get to those seats. I have never actually talked to someone that has got those seats and I have never figured out how you get up there.

They are accessed by a long, precarious flight of stairs with no railing.........

Thanks a lot for the help guys. Hopefully I can keep everyone motivated enough to get them all in line about 3.5 hours prior to the start. If not, chugging 15 friends to a warm bar and taking over a room might be decent, too.

I have sat in the Huntington seats many times. I remember sitting there watching the Pepsi Power Patrol and thinking, "Well, no need to be on the lookout for a t-shirt all the way up...OMG that t-shirt is coming right at me!!!"
Anyways, 15 people trying to get tickets is going to be a steep hill to climb. Seriously, camping out there 3-5 hours before hand might not be a bad idea. I know I tried to get two tickets for the Pittsburgh game last year and was there two hours before they went on sale. I made it right to the door when the guy came out and said all $10 tickets are sold out.
Good news is my sis and I were able to get an upper bowl ticket each, but we sat about three rows and around seven seats apart.
Best of luck to you and your party!

Just in case we can't get in, is R Bar "the" bar to see the game? I noticed they have some pretty good specials for Saturdays and during the game.
Also, we'd like to check out a local brewery to grab some food and local drinks around dinner time. I've seen that there's Barley's Brewing, Elevator Brewery and Draught Haus, and Columbus Brewing. Are there any others that I'm missing, and which one is the best bang for the buck?
Any other spots we have to hit up?
Again, thank you, it's pretty tough planning for 15 people who can't make up their minds!

The Elevator's food is way over priced in my opinion.

We got in line right at 4:00 on Saturday and were the first people in line... outside. If we would have got there about 5 minutes earlier, we would have been inside waiting. However, in a very nice gesture, they brought out hot chocolate to everyone waiting outside for free. Our group was cut down from about 15 to 9 because of people not able to drive through Level 3 Snow Warnings, but we were able to get the nine tickets all together in one row, and saw a fantastic game. We were in section 223 (didn't have to head up to the Sky Terrace or anything to that extent), and the seats were amazing for $10, much better than what they were offering us for a group rate of $38.
Frog Bear was packed with Sabres fans, so we just grabbed some food at Brothers, which wasn't awful for $8 and some good gameday beer specials, then headed to Gordon Biersch for the beer samplers after the game and explored the nightlife a bit. Heck of a time overall, and I'd love to do it again sometime. Can't beat getting 9 tickets for about the price we would have paid for 2. Excellent, and let's hope we can keep this momentum going.
