Favorite Blue Jackets/hockey memories?

Hey everyone, I was thinking it would be great to hear some of your personal favorite moments that happened with the Blue Jackets and or in the NHL. I'm a new fan myself and have already had a couple moments I will always cherish! So here we go!
My first Hat Trick! January 11th, 2009. I can remember jumping to my feet and screaming, "That's a Hat Trick!!!" I felt so lucky to have witnessed that in person. I giggled a little at the two older guys in front of me taking off their hats and tossing them (well, trying to anyways!) to the ice. That game left me thinking there was more to come from Nikita Filatov. I hope he comes back next season!
And February 4th, 2010. While watching the Jackets warm up at ice level, I was just looking around watching them skate in a circle and shoot the puck at the goal. Next thing I know I feel something hit my foot. I look down and there's a puck at my feet! I immediately picked it up and took home a souvenir! Unfortunately, I don't know who flipped it and can only speculate because of who was in the general area at the moment.
So, there are my two favorite moments. Can't wait to hear some good stories. Also, if this is in the wrong place I apologize.

my top moments come as a weekend package... back in march of 2007 i won an online contest held by the CBJ called fly with the jackets... the prize included a trip from columbus to detroit riding with the entire team and staff and staying at the team hotel in downtown detroit also including a pre game practice at the joe as well as luxury box seats to watch the game... then entire 2 days were a whirwind... but so much fun and i took sooooo many pictures... i will cherish those 2 days for the rest of my life... one of the coolest parts of the time was the game went to overtime and then a shootout... and the eventual shootout winner ... none other than the man they were booing all night long... former stanley cup winning member of the detroit red wings... sergei fedorov... lol we were all screaming and dancing in the box lol... later after the game as we were already boarded on the plane the players were filing into thier seats... and sergei walked by and said... you 2 must be good luck lol... ( awesome ) i got nasher to sign several items that currently are on the wall as i type this... also was fortunate enough to get a team signed jersey ( thanks to one of our handlers for the weekend )
other than that weekend there for me still are many favorites...
i was at the CBJ's very first ever playoff game in detroit ( sure we lost but i had to be there to see it )
brassard gave my youngest step son a game used stick at fan fest this year cause he made him a bet over a game of X BOX hockey ... that he signed for him... ( all class )
and oh yea being in the season opening tv commercial this season...

Favorite hockey moment: Pops took me to my first NHL game in Detroit to see my Wings. I was around 7 years old (39 now). I remember seeing the ice surface all lit up from the entrance tunnel as we walked towards it. May have peed my pants, I don't remember. I still get that goose-bumpy feeling when going seeing the ice as I enter an arena and it makes me think of my pop, god bless him. He wasn't even a hockey fan.
Favorite CBJ moment: Actually making the playoffs last season. I think we were playing Chicago.

When they drafted Nash.
When Hitchcock was hired/ and when he was fired.
Watching Rick Nash score a 3-5 goal against the flames earlier this year, final result was a loss.
Watch the jackets in warmup in the same game, and getting Nikki's autograph.

I live in Wisconsin so I finally made it to my first NHL games this year...first was Van/Min and then I got to see the Jackets play the Wild in December, even though they lost I had a blast. Goin to watch SJS/Min in March...but I would love to make it to Nationwide someday.
There is also a amateur elite league here with some great talent called the GLHL that my buddies play in and I attend their games frequently...many great memories made at those games. Wished Wisconsin had a pro team but we do have some good high school hockey as well.

I still remember the first CBJ game i went to, October 27, 2000 when we beat the Caps 3-1, it was amazing!
I remember all the great time's I've had at Hockey Fests and meeting different players, back in '01 i got to spend quite a bit of time with Kevin Dineen at an event at Easton, the guy was the best and one of my favorite Jackets of all time.
Probably the best memory I have is of New Year's Eve 2007 when Nash got a hattie and we beat the oilers. It was the first CBJ hat trick I ever saw, even though I did get to see Joe Sakic score a hat trick in one period against us back in '01-sad times haha.

My first would be the first CBJ game I attended. It was the final home game of the first season. The CBJ were playing my, at that time, favorite team, the Blackhawks. My buddy and I had traveled a few times to Chicago to watch a game there, but this was our first in Columbus. The Jackets beat the Blawkhawks in that game. I remember the ride home, thinking, why am I not supporting the local team?
The next has to be watching Nash get a hat trick in person. I don't remember who they were playing or when it happened. It was the first hat trick I had seen in person. I remember being upset that I didn't have a hat to throw. I have made I am prepared from then on.
Watching the Jackets beat Wings 9-2 at the Joe last season. I was watching the game from home, but all my friends were calling me asking me "what the hell is going on" LOL I remember laughing at all the middle fingers I saw from the crowd after each goal. LOL

Game 4 of the playoffs. Even though we lost, I have never seen NWA packed like it was. Standing the entire 3rd period and watching the team come back twice from 2 goals down was pretty sick.

my most memorable "hockey" experience came in an ECHL game when i was watching my hometown bombers play. I was around row 15 center ice with my family and friends and as i leaned over to say something to my dad i was hit in the side of the head with a puck. surprisingly it shocked me more than it actually hurt but i got to take home a puck that day and was pretty excited. i know sometimes that can be dangerous so i guess I'm lucky (it was also nice to see the jackets stomp the sabres and shut the fans up behind me the other night)

Went to the first game ever in Nationwide and loved every minute of it, despite the fact it was a preseason game! I sat next to a 90 year old man from Detroit who made the trip with his son and grandson to see their Red Wings play against the Jackets. I learned more about hockey that night then I could ever imagined. The old man knew so much about hockey it was addicting just to hear more stories from him about the many years of hockey he had witnessed through his life. The players, stats & games he recalled and witnessed firsthand were truly inspiring. He cemented my love for hockey and the passion the fans have for this sport.
Was at the very first CBJ regular season game (I got to see my beloved Blackhawks for the first time and remember how hard it was to root for the CBJ) and I ended up attending 35 home games that season...living in Victorian Village, single and willing to drink on a moments notice made for a hell of a fun year despite the record.
Nash's hat trick...my hat was proudly thrown that night!
Jan. 31st, 2008--vs. NASHVILLE--my wife and I were entertaining my wife's clients for their first time ever attending a hockey game. We went out to dinner beforehand and had such a blast at dinner. We arrive at the arena and on our way to our seats the woman we were entertaining completely collapses on the floor and goes into a state of shock. She gets taken down to the makeshift hospital ward in the arena and they cannot figure out what's wrong with her. They suggest we take her immediately to Riverside for further observation. So I get my car, load her up at the back entrance of the arena and proceed to the hospital. I watch the remaining two periods from the emergency room in the hospital and watch them proceed to lose. She was finally released and still to this day, no one was ever able figure out what was wrong with her that night. So much for my 4 center ice club level tix I had gotten that night (traded some of my games with my buddies I sat with in that section to get the 4 tix). Most expensive game/night I paid for & never got to see it live!
Will NEVER forget the electric crowd last year in NA for our first ever playoff game. It was an atmosphere I couldn't imagine. I look forward to attending the first ever home playoff victory!
Great post by the way!
