1996 - Pittsburgh, PA
1st Round Eastern Conference Playoffs

This was my first playoff game ever and it was in the igloo with the Pens playing against the Washington Capitals and a goon named Chris Simon. Total jerk. Anyway, the crowd was unbelievable and I got to see one of my hockey heroes, Jagr. I can't remember the final score but I do remember that the Pens won and Tommy B making some amazing saves.

"Arrrggg scratch my back with a hacksaw."

Next best hockey memory... Game 4 of the Blue Jackets v. Wings. As others have noted I've never seen the Area District so alive. Amazing game.... shame it was ruined by the too many men on the ice call, I was ready for OT.

Last one: watching the 3rd and 5th longest NHL games in their entirety on TV. For that one in 2000 with the Pens v. Flyers I think there were only a dozen people awake left in the arena.

First Hockey Memory:  seeing the Wheeling Thunderbirds play not long after they came to Wheeling.

Favorite Hockey Memory:  After high school I started going to Pens games, but never got to see Mario. He is my all-time favorite player.  In early 2003, my buddy called me and asked me if I wanted to see the Pens vs Flyers, I went and saw Mario play.  I was one row up from the glass, penalty box side.  The Pens lost 5-3, but I saw Mario play my one and only time.

Favorite Jackets Memory: is actually a 3-way tie.  I have only been forunate enough to attend 3 games but each one was memorable.

   1.  In 2008 saw the Jackets shut out the 'Hawks 4-0, in my first trip to see the Jackets.  My friend Web's first Jacket Game.

   2.  Season Finale last year, saw the Jackets play against my current favorite player, Marian Gaborik.  My friend Jeremy's first Jacket Game.

   3.  October 2009, saw the Jackets beat the Flames 2-1.  Had all you can eat seats.  Got some great pictures.

Hockey Moment of 2009-10 Season:  Seeing the Kings beat the Blues in St. Louis 2-1.  Went west of Cincinnati for the first time.  Saw the hockey game and the next day saw my Minnesota Vikings for the first time. (crushed the Rams)

Favorite hockey memory will forever be the 1980 "Miracle on Ice" with the U.S. team defeating the Soviet Union, then going on to beat Finland for the gold.
