im telling you getting rid of filatov who you just went on a rant about being young and getting better every year, would be the biggest mistake this franchise can do. A 60 goal scorer in a few years .. what a waste

60 goals???  crazy

Iginla is a great leader and still a pretty good goal scorer, however I've seen him play in Calgary for the past 6 years of my life and he's almost as streaky as Nasher, and his numbers are definitely declining as the years pass on. The only way I would go for Iginla is if he was a center and could set up Nash, however he's not a crazy good passer, and he's not a center.

Iggy would be a bad move.

Right now, I would look at a defensemen (unless we call up one of our Springfield players) before a center.   If we can shore up the defense in front of Mase and Garon, we might be able to wait till closer to the trade deadline ( ala Vermette). Never know this little shakeup that Arniel has going on (scratching Voracek and various players) may be the spark we needed.

ok fantasy trade talk time

first of all i don't think iginla would be traded to c-bus unless there was a big contract going back to calgary..it's not going to happen....now if you could unload commie and a number 1 for iginla....to me thats a no brainer...you make the deal...this team plays well with a lead and you can't turn down 30 goal scorers...this team has troble scoring goals and the kids have not stepped up( jake nicky and brass) altho brass keeps teasing us...you want to make the playoffs this year..you have to get another top six forward unless you beleive that dorsett is going to do the job...

Why in the world would we want a winger? We've spent 10 seasons signing everybody we don't need. We need a top clan (ala kaberle) or a top 6 center (ala Spezza). Those are the positions we need to fill. Granted neither of those players are going to come free, but obviously the status quo on our team isn't necessarily getting it done.
