from the boys at puckrakers......

-- Reebok has been handed design ideas by the Blue Jackets regarding the third sweater, to be unveiled next season. The club expects to get a prototype back from the sporting goods' supplier shortly. Local retailers have already been asked to submit orders. The Dispatch has been told by a high-ranking front-office member that the new duds will be unveiled next November.

hmmm, maybe we have come CBJ management lurkers here.  LOL  It is good to hear that they are finally working on another 3rd jersey.  I just hope it is not a "throw back" to the original jersey.

I actually like the original jersey, but my guess is its going to be a flag like logo on the front.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of third jersey they develop. Personally, I've been really happy with just the blue and white sweaters. Keeps it simple and I like the stars on the wrist, something different in the league.

Regardless, no one will ever have a cooler jersey than the New York Islanders short lived "Fisherman" jersey:

If were gonna do throwbacks then throw it way back.  Columbus Owls from the 70s.

Gordon I could not agree more about the Islanders jersey. I had always loved that jersey, enough to buy one when I was not even a fan of the islanders  Yahoo

There's a place here in Forest Park that sells excess bulk sports clothing and such, but the only fisherman jersey that had was a child's large, much too small for me haha. I'm gonna try to find one when I go to NY this summer. I love the jersey. We could easily adapt it for the Blue Jackets...

Just replace the fisherman with a civil war soldier wielding a combined and supper cheesy hockey stick+gun with the word "Blue Jackets" beneath it.

Haha, great idea.  Make the soldier have a gruff look to him like General Sherman (Whose from Ohio).

Got these from lightthelamp.com, the 3rd option is my favorite, especially adding the gold accent

Interesting ideas with those concepts, but number 1 looks like it would be a special cheesy third jersey for a minor league team who would auction them off afterwards. All it needs is a "USA Collision Center" advertisement on it.

Two is cool, but there were no Blue Jackets or Columbus NHL team in 1934 (its about as ironic as the sweatshirt I have that says "Columbus Blue Jackets, Old Time Hockey."

I agree with jackets4life, number three is the best.

And bluejackets77, I love the General Sherman idea. Make him all scragly and mean looking holding a Civil War musket.

3rd option is sweet.  I don't mind the 4th either.

the other day the dispatch reported that the jersey should have a cannon theme if what they heard was true. Just wanted to let everyone know, i'm not sure about that as the main logo but we'll see
