Every year we go to a far away city to watch the greatest game known to man.  This year I somehow convinced my canuck friends to venture to the C-bus to testify to the Rick Nash experience!!!!  The legendary game will be host to the weiner islanders on the 27th of March 2010.

We are not exactly local, unless one considers a 7 hour drive to be local, but that is neither here nor there.... the point is, we have a hotel, a game to watch, and a day to fill.

I was just wondering if anyone has any recomendations for places to eat, places to drink, places to talk Blue Jackets Talk without the use of a keyboard.  Your help will be moocho appreciated and who knows, we may even bump into ya!!

Thank you in advance:
Bazil, the one who testifies.  Carry the Flag

It may help if you let us know where your hotel is located at.  We can tell where the good places are around your hotel.

As for good places to talk CBJ, the Arena district, which Nationwide Arena is pretty much in the center.  All the bars and resturants start filling up with Jacket's fans about 2 hours before the game.

The hotel that is booked is the Holiday Inn, 175 East Town St. I'm told it's a 20 min walk to Nationwide.

Thanks puckhogg, I never thought of that thread.

Are the old-school jerseys still acceptable to wear?

heck yeah, I favor mine, mines signed, but either way works, you'll see plenty of people wearing all different types of jerseys

I know that hotel well.  Given your price of roughly $89/night you might not get a better rate.  But I just checked PRICELINE and the Red Roof Inn is priced around $119/night and MUCH closer to where you want to be.  Also on PRICELINE, they had the Hyatt on Capitol Square which is much nicer than the Holiday Inn is $109/night, yet it is not too far away from the Holiday Inn, yet still in a much better location than the Holiday Inn.  Also, I checked for the Courtyard by Marriott which is much closer to the Arena District and rooms range from $109 to $139.  There's also a Hampton Inn just north of the Arena District that is pretty nice from what I hear.  The Hyatt Regency is the closest you can get to the Arena, yet it will definitely be higher than the Red Roof Inn which is just east of it, same goes for the Crowne Plaza.  There's also the Drury Hotel right next to the Hyatt Regency, but I'm not sure of the room rates.  (Hotels in bold are closest to Arena & Arena District)

Basically what I'm trying to tell you, the Holiday Inn would be the LAST place I would choose to stay in Cbus.  It's just on the east edge of downtown, where you're not in the thick of things in the Arena District, which is absolutely where you want to be.   I've lived in Cbus all my life and just want you and your friends to enjoy your stay here and not make a mistake by staying at that hotel.

But then again, it is a bachelor party and who the hell cares where you stay right?  Wherever you end up, I just hope you guys have one hell of a night!

I read through that thread to see if anyone would say something like "get tickets now, cause it could be a huge game for the playoffs" so I could laugh, but no one did.   good
