So, the Jackets will not be back as a major-league partner with the AHL's Syracuse Crunch next year, after a ten-year relationship. Thoughts?

The team is looking for a quick fix by way of  Springfield, MA's Falcons. The team isn't the cream of the crop, or at least hasn't proven themselves to be that, as they have only made the post-season once out of the past 10 years and only average 3,494 fans attending per game compared with the Crunch's 5,362.

According to the Dispatch, "A Blue Jackets-Cleveland affiliation seemingly would work on several levels, but the Lake Erie Monsters have an agreement with the Colorado Avalanche that is thought to have two more seasons remaining. However, it's believed the two sides have an opt-out clause after next season."

I would love to see the Jacket's AHL team switch to the Lake Erie Monsters.  Call up from the AHL team would be much easier since the team's homes are within a couple hours drive.  Plus everyonce in a while a local station will show a Monsters game on TV.  It would make watching the games a little more meaningful for me.

Plus it does seem like the Crunch are not developing the players the way the CBJ want.  Maybe a change of venue and some of the staff and players will help things redevelop the way the CBJ want.

To build for the future, you have to have good minor league developing.

Well, it is official that the Falcons will be the new AHL affiliate for the Jackets for the 2010-2011 season, with an additional one-year option.

You can see the new Falcons' sweaters here: http://bluejackets.nhl.com/club/gallerylanding.htm?id=14903

basically the change was from edmontons colors to the jackets colors

anyone know what's happening with the crunch then?
and not sure, haven't been able to find that out,i know that edmonton needs a team and possibly anaheim may be interested as well, as they didnt have an AHL affiliate last year.

Shortly after the Jacket's official announcement of the change in AHL team, the Crunch announced that they are now the AHL team of Anaheim
