BIGGEST NEWS OF THE OFFSEASON! (I kid because I care!)

For the record, I might have been the first poster to mention this guy as a need on our team back when we began discussing possible draft candidates.  (Only I figured they would have to move up and get a second first rounder, not draft him in the 4th spot which I'm sure shocked many until after the dust completely settled and everyone saw it might not have been that far of a reach as originally thought.)  I'm just glad he's on our team and hopefully he can help contribute in the very near future for many years to come! Love this kid!

I figure he will spend this season in Juniors, next season in Springfield with a couple games NHL games.  Then the 2012-2013 full time job with the CBJ

It's just too bad we can't have his "projected" services now, Nash could really use this kid on his line.  By the time he comes into the lineup and takes over the #1 or #2 position Nash will be close to or over 30 years of age.  Would have been nice to see Nash play with a talented center the majority of his career, not the end.  Here's to hoping Brassard can step it up this year!

You have a good point, a lot of scouts have said that he's under developped (meaning he can still grow physicaly and skill wise) . He's drawn a lot of comparison to Eric Staal wich I hope he at least comes close to his skills.Howson is gambling on the fact we might have a futur Eric Staal,Joe Thorton or Ryan Getzlaf on our hands. Hope it comes true , but that doesnt mean we have to lose faith in Brassard.

We need Brassard to step it up more than any other forward we have right now.  I hope he can take on the load this year and help carry this team alongside Nash.  Would love for him to become our #1 center this year and then have Vermette #2.  Thus making Johansen waiting in the wings with no real pressure to come in and produce right away (in the near future).  That's the ultimate scenario we as fans should be hoping for right now.
