Still want to know who SH is looking at to bring in. I not sure Sanford is the answer we are looking for.

agreed... and by the sound of his town hall meeting ... he is serious about it ... so i am lead to believe that he at least intends on bringing in someone who can at the very least compete for the starting job and has the reume to back it up ... million dollar question is ? who will be leaving ...?

A. Vermette
B. Brassard
C. Pahlsson
D. combination of one of those and a young D man and or draft pick

With the rumors of Canucks possibly looking at Nabakov, does that mean Schneider is possibily on the trade block? Yes, I know they are just rumors, but shouldn't we as fans expect GMSH to get nothing but the best for us?  I doubt we have what the Canucks want in return, but it certainly would be a huge splash if we could land him.

Brassard & draft pick/prospect for Schneider?

I still believe Mason has the goods to be a #1 goaltender, he just needs to be put into a better situation.  He needs to be a #2 goalie and not have so much pressure on him.  The kid is still only 23 years old (average age goaltender in league is 29 years old) and has plenty of time to get his head right. Having Schneider and Mason down the road as a 1-2 punch would definitely make us better on the backend.  My guess is that we would have to give back to them Mason in the deal as well.

Of course, we still have issues with that blueline to address;)

yea ideally i would like to keep Mason as a backup / 1A option ... and trade away a center + for a guy like Harding or Schneider ... be nice to have someone who can step up when Mason collapses ... and vice versa

I not sure Sanford is the answer we are looking for.

Sanford is a good answer to the question, "who is a good #3 goalie in the NHL?"

He's never been seen as a good #1, however, and nobody knows about Dekanich.

Preseason I thought Mason and Dekanich would be a good tandem as they are both young, but I sense one is hungry and the other has the confidence of being told he's the #1.

I do not think playing Mason every game, even if the alternative is Sanford or York, sends the right message to Mason.  He was NOT seen as the answer when Pascal and Fred were hurt in 08-09.  But he shined!  I think he needs to be worried about playing time.
