It's quite obvious that Howson is listening to any and all offers for Brassard.  Portzline just tweeted that Howson reportedly turned down an offer from the Hurricanes about a month ago (Kaberle & 2012 2nd Rd pick).  Portzline noted that Howson probably wasn't willing to take on Kaberle and his bloated contract, it was not in the best interest of the team.

With Brassard being another healthy scratch tonight, what do you think Howson hopes to get in return?

Obviously, a goalie would/should be #1 on Howson's wish list.

Hard to say Brass' value, I would keep him for now. Try and work a deal closer to the trade deadline, might get a better offer.

man this is just bad ... i feel for Brassard here ... its not like he is the only one not putting up numbers ... not to mention not the only one having bad numbers ... i feel he is being scapegoated as his agent says

i like Brass ... i just hope he ends up somewhere where he can play and can win

Brassard for Chara ...?

I don't know if it's a scapegoat thing, but it sure reminds me of Commodore's situation last year.

...I did not understand that either.

Agreed.  I think scratching him doesn't help him improve his play.  He's in Arniel's dog house for some reason, maybe we should ask Commie why?

Commie and Brass are still good friends...

Honestly I like Brass but he is really getting the short end of the stick this season.  We are bloated (for once) with centers.  We wouldn't be having this problem unless Johanson was playing with us.  I have a feeling we have a couple players as trade bait, but I am not 100% Brass is one of them.  Got a feeling that Howsen wants to keep a hold of him or wants somethign very large in return.

The other thing to look at is we playing the best hockey when we are physical. So they are playing the bigger body's too.

I would not think scratching him continually will help his trade value.

He needs to play and more than 4th line minutes.

Arace wrote a good piece on the situation...in the Dispatch today.
