Never understood why we sent Atkenson down in the first , yeah sure is not good in his own end but so what , if we had good defensman that wouldnt be a problem.

ownership/management obviously see the season is a total loss ... and want to keep whatever assets we have in Springfield down there to get plenty of ice time and to develop at a good pace ...

If thats the case, why did we not send Johansen back?
Atkinson is showing that he can at least SCORE, something this team has no concept of. Like Johansen, I think he can only learn more playing at this pace at this level than he will skating circles around everybody in Springfield. I have always found, for me anyways, that I learn much more in games than I do in practice. Sure you can simulate scenarios, but every now and then you're going to be thrown into a situation that's just going to have to happen for you to learn from it.
I see where you're coming from, especially since we don't want these kids becoming accustomed to losing, but I think there is significantly more to gain by bringing him up now than next season.
