This is probably the last chance I'll get to be on my computer until the first intermission most likely because of prior school obligations, so I figured I'd get the discussion started on tonight's big game for the Jackets. I'm going to take the Jackets in an overall pounding of the Oilers, although I don't think the score will show it. I think the Jackets will come out on fire due to the momentum from the big shootout win a few nights ago. I expect the Jackets to go up 3-0 early, but from some home ice advantage and fan involvement, the Oilers will come back and score a goal or two but fall short of catching the playoff hungry Jackets, who will score a late goal to kill all momentum gained by Edmonton.

Final Score Prediction: Blue Jackets over the Oilers: 4-2
CBJ Goals: Nash (2)- He's hungry, and he showed it a few nights ago by the way he came back for his first game since his injury, plus he's played pretty well against them in the past. Modin and Peca will account for the other two goals.

Another good fight from Boll to keep the enthusiasm and momentum going wouldn't be frowned upon either  2 thumbs up

It may also be worth mentioning that the last time these two teams played, the Blue Jackets got thumped pretty bad (7-2) so they may be looking for revenge, possibly even more now that the two teams are right on the verge of that 8 spot in the playoff race.

thats a hell of a prediction.  i like the detail and if you get it right on, that would be amazing.  haha.

i think this is a team we can beat if we come out strong but the jackets have really not had much luck at all playing in Edmonton.

i'll go with a 4-3 win in OT

i know OT wins are not what we need, but they are better than a loss! would any of you rather lose and move on to Calgary with no points??

I'll take the 2 points with my prediction and go take on Calgary!

We've got the lead! Now we've just gotta hang on and put a few more on the board to put this thing out of reach for the Oilers.

P.S. Even though Boll scored, that doesn't get him out of his fighting obligations I predicted earlier  cool

What a major let down..... Can't say the effort wasn't there, just some dumb mistakes. Can't win 'em all I guess...

The knife went deep on that one. Tough one to take. Defense got soft in the last 5 minutes. They were allover us in those last couple minutes in the tie game. We had too many turnovers today.

This was shaping up to be a GREAT night for the jackets. Having the late lead with Anaheim and minnesota already losing. we end up getting a loss and now Phoenix is beating Detroit in the third (which really sucks) and Vancouver is beating SJ (hopefully that doesnt hold up). it could end up being a real ugly night for the standings.

Lets go steal a point or two in Calgary. Keep the heads up and go into the break strong!

OUCH!! bang head

I agree, but the Backman Penalty that led to the tying goal was complete garbage, after the missed calls on Moreau. At worst, both should have been sent to the Penalty box, whoever he hooked, was diving bigger than crap.

Mason got away with one in the 3rd period though. Did anyone else catch when he dropped the puck into the "no play zone" and when the pressure came he tried to clear it anyway? He gave it a whack and there was no call.

The one i question is how in the hell Boll ended up in the box after he got cross checked into Rollie the Goalie and then got hammered down with the blocker about 5 times. He didnt do ANYTHING, and Rollie got NOTHIN!

I can't understand why the Jackets have trouble holding a lead --- sometimes a substantial one too. Commodore seems to be doing the right things back there but these catch-up goals from the opposition seem to be simply silly mistakes.
