Obviously our top 6 D men are now Hejda, Commodore, Tyutin, Russel, Methot, and Rome, as Rome has clearly passed both Klesla and Backman on the depth chart as evidenced by Klesla and Backman both being healthy scratches in favor of Rome now.   So who will be the #7 guy to even stay up with the team as the main injury spare once all of Klesla, Backman, and Tollefsen are healthy.

I predict Backman.   I think Klesla and Tollefsen will be waived to the Crunch.

and the way rome has played in the last couple of games, the only thing he is passing is milemarker signs on the interstate as he takes the bus back to the 'cuse

Klesla was a healthy scratch last game along with Backman.  So Rome has passed both on the depth chart.

yeah, OKT is out with a long term injury... i have no doubt that Klesla is better than backman. I doubt that Rome will stay ahead of him for long actually... and the answer to your question will be Rome. He really didnt play very well last night.

Well if Rome has another several bad games in a row I guess it is possible for Klesla to pass him again.  I doubt it though.

klesla will play saturday in detroit....hitch loves klesla's game and it will either be rome or methot along with backman who will sit ..both rome and methot had poor showings against nashville...methot let sullivan get behind him on the go ahead gaol and rome either couldn't clear the puck or would ice it..

Klesla is much better than Rome, Backman, and Toiletsen!  Problem is, that ain't sayin much!  Rome was in there to give Klesla more time, not because he is lower on the depth chart.

Our D is below average (and I am being nice putting it that way) and is a liability!  If we don't shore it up soon, we can't keep pace.  Russell and Methot, two guys who I like, are really struggling down the stretch.  They look tired and wore out, slow on their skates, and reaching for pucks instead of getting in there with their bodies.  Last night was a real eye opener on the D.  If not for a lack of concentration goal, and a guy out of place, we are right in the game.  Not sure Vermette can help in that area, and I am not sure what the options are.

I don't understand why we're paying Backman so much to be an "offensive defensman" and he's scored, what, 2 times? He has been scratched way way way too much to be making that type of cash! To me, Klesla is the obvious choice, and I predict he will compete with Methot if he stays healthy for a spot on the third pairing. Either that, or Rome's gone.

Hitch has Klesla and Tyutin out there together against their number one line in Klesla's first game back. I dont think he's been passed up by Rome...

I guess we will see Rome and Klesla switching games back and forth as the teams #6 D man then.   Maybe include Backman and have all 3 alternating games.

i cant be sure, but i dont think you will be seeing Klesla as a true healthy scratch. I think he was scratched the other night to give him a little more time on the injury.

Klesla is higher than #6 in my opinion... i dont think he will be a healthy scratch from here on out. but we'll see... i could be way off base!
