The Columbus Blue Jackets are one of the teams very interested in acquiring center Brad Richards from the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Sources tell TFP the Montreal Canadiens, Edmonton Oilers and Vancouver Canucks are also interested in Richards, while TSN's Darren Dreger claims the Blue Jackets are considered the frontrunner for the 27-year-old.

Richards has a no-movement clause and TSN reports he would be willing to waive it if he's moved to an environment he's comfortable with.

The Lightning is believed to be asking for a defenseman as part of a package for Richards, although a source said they'd also be interested in second- and third-line talent packaged in an offer.

No formal offers have been made as of this afternoon, although trade discussions are expected to heat up over the weekend.

Be interesting to see what we're offering.

I will assume Richards would consider Columbus a comfortable setting.  That's one of the knocks on Columbus is they say the players get to comfortable and don't play as well.

Richards would be a welcome addition to the team.of course colombus has a calm and chill setting.its colombus.im not sure what its like down there too ,much, but here in MTL, our team had unbelivable pressure on their shoulders.if they win, they become the ultimate heros to the city.however, if they lose, we have a reputation for being very unforgiving.Colombus dosent have that, its a quiet market
