I'm watching the Oilers game right now... We are now 0 for our last 31 powerplays. If you think about that for a minute, we have now played the equivalent of an entire game (over 60 minutes) with an extra skater and got shut out. Pretty sad!!   What's the problem with our powerplay???

The problem with our powerplay is that we spend way too much time passing the puck instead of shooting it on the net. If we shoot the puck as much as we pass it, we wouldn't have this 0 for 31 on our powerplays. I think we also need to set up more traffic in front of the goalie. We usually only put one guy in front, but that is not enough. I would like to see us put a defender like klesla or transtrom in front of the goalie to create that traffic that we need.

Yeah the PP is a huge miss for our team. I agree with teamcanada that there should be a big defenseman or forward in front of the net other than Nash. Nash is too valuable of a scorer to be posted in front of a goalie. On one of the PP's vs edmonton he had it about halfway between endline and the blueline on the boards and turned on the spot and beat three defenders to the middle and shot. Thats what there needs to be more of.

And I like how we pass the puck because that's important but that one replay they showed where there were like 10 or 15 passes before a shot was ridiculous.
