Nice video - he was always very personable to everyone he ran into and appreciative of the fans' support.  I'm actually in it at 2:08... feel free to begin the flame job... :p

nate great post...i'll never forget that mr mac stepped up when everything looked like it was over...the first flirtation with hartford looking to move to columbus and then the first illfated attempt with lamar hunt to land an expansion team......now it's up to the fans to keep hockey in columbus as a living memorial to mr mac.....

OK everyone... now let's show him how much we appreciated him on Saturday and all future games by packing the place!! Thank you Mr. McConnel, for never giving up on us. You were the best. This season was for you, now it's time to dedicate the PLAYOFFS to you!!

When the Jackets clinched a playoff spot on Wednesday, I told my mother, "Mr. McConnell would have loved this."  I think I spoke for many people here in central Ohio when I said that.  McConnell always believed that Columbus was a viable pro sports market and didn't stop until our franchise became a reality.  Now that the playoffs are a reality, I say we tip our caps to Mr. McConnell.  This one's for you, Mr. Mac!

I'm very respectful of what Mr. McConnell did. Today would be the realization of his dream.
