i know i'm just messing with you. but just because the guy plays the least doesnt mean he is the guy to go.
Filatov played less, why not him???
i dont think that would happen, but you get my point.

True! But Hitch likes Filatov! You can see that from draft day on, and that is why he is up here right now. Filatov is probably the biggest reason Jake is gone, to make room and get some D help. I could be wrong, but people like Torres, Boll, Pecker, etc would have to go, and those are Hitch guys. I see it happening on draft day too! That is really earlier, but I could see that happening.

Peca is a guy i wouldnt mind sending away... he brings leadership to the locker room, but i dont feel like he brings much to the ice anymore.

I don't think the CBJ's are going to trade their 19 year old rookie playmaker sensation whether they need a puck moving dman or not. They're after long term success via drafting and building from within. Trading Jake would go against their whole plan for this franchise Fly. Plus there's no puck moving dmen out there besides Boumeester really and it's well known that he wants to play in a big hockey market ala a team in Canada.

We don't need a puck moving defenseman, we need a couple defensive defensemen. Our defense isn't that great, anyone can tell that. I agree that youth is good, but we have plenty of it, and Hitch likes "Hitch" guys, whether they are young or not....see Peca, Modin, etc.
Besides, he can probably get a guy who is only mid 20's and plays his style.....trust me, 80% chance he is gone

you are rediculous, lets trade brassard too. I am 80% sure that will happen myself. Brassard needs traded becuase he has two banged up shoulders. Also hitch cant stand brassard becuase he scores to many goals and creates way to much offense for the team. He will be great trade bait becuase of what he did earlier this year and he is an excellent fighter, which some teams need right now. Imagine our team next year when brassard gets traded for clay wilson, our team will be stacked.
Yes fly, this is how horrible you sound. I do think you have hockey knowledge, but I do not see where you are getting your information from. Jake scored almost as many points as nasher did his rookie season. The ice time will come as jake matures. The kid is 19 and you think the jackets are going to let him go. NO WAY!!!!!!!!!
PS. You are the one that said we were not going to make the playoffs and that our 40 goal scorer should be traded.

First off, CALM DOWN, WOOSAH WOOSAH! Before you act like that I am saying to do it, or that I want it, read the posts! I DON'T WANT it to happen, I really like Jake and think he will blossom into a really good player. I was just commenting on the scenario of what I think could happen. I get the feeling that Hitch would move Jake for areas of need, and that with Filatov and others, he might feel Jake is an expendable piece. Making a statement like that about Brassard, is confusing at best, it doesn't fall inline with what I was saying, but feel free to keep up with what you are saying!
As far as what I said about the playoffs, there is some truth about that. I did feel that Nash being traded would bring us a lot of pieces, but never said Nash was not a really good player. Again, I like Nash, he is awesome and has been solid EVERY year. We did make the playoffs with Nash, and I was wrong. But, lets not forget that we did make some moves, and I fully believe that Vermette was needed to help get us here also. Getting A.V for what we gave up was genius, and a really good move. I hope he is able to get the other pieces we need to be competitive WITHOUT trading Nash, that would be awesome!!!

My posts about brassard was a joke.
I understand your thoughts becuase this team does have a tremendous amount of depth. I was just disagreeing with you that Jake is expandable. Sorry i flew off the deep end and putting words into your mouth. The way that Jake and Brass played together in the beg. of the year was amazing, i do not see that being broke up.
I understand some guys will not be on this team next year, but dont you think that we should give up guys like modin, peca, murray, or even a chimera rather than Voracek?

I would most definitely get rid of Modin before Voracek

Oh heck yeah! Everyone knows my feelings on Modin, he is no longer an asset. Same for Pecker, these guys were good players, now they just take up spots. We have guys 10x better, and I agree whole heartedly that Modin and Pecker should not be here. 100% chance that Pecker is not back, but Modin is a little more tricky. He is under contract, owed millions, and Hitch likes his old ways.
So if you are asking, do I believe Chimer, Murray, Modin, Peca should be gone before Jake, no question about it. Here is the problem though, Modin and Peca probably are gone anyway, but I can't think of any team that would want Chimer, Murray or Modin at this point. Especially to get any kind of return in value, they don't really have upside, but Jake does.
We all want a championship team, and surprisingly we have made tremendous strides. None of us though, believe we are a championship team right now. Oh we believe we are right there, and have faith, but we all know we have some holes to fill, especially on defense. We can draft, cool. We can develope guys in the minors, yeah. We can attempt to get F.A here, looking better all the time. But getting exactly what you want is usually a trade (see Vermette) deal. I think mgt. and Howson are committed to getting Hitch a perfect team, so I see them being aggessive in targeting players of need. That usually means parting with a highly potential piece you have (see Leclaire). Leclaire became expendable because of two things, 1) A player/players showed themselves capable of playing in his place. 2) Our need at a position outweighed our need to keep a talented guy. I think that is what is kinda happening in this situation! We will see, and it should make for interesting conversation this summer......+1 on the retract, I respect that!
