Greetings.  I just go purchased 2 tix for my 12 year old son and me for tomorrow's opening game in Detroit and I was wondering if any other CBJ fans on this forum are going.  I've been to Detroit/Windsor (Cuban Cigars!!) several times but have never gone to a game at the Joe.  How do their fans treat opposing teams' fans?  Should I bring mace or other weaponry to walk around downtown at night?  JK.

Anyway, I hope to see other Jackets fans tomorrow night.

Let's Go Jackets!!

wont be making it up but i will be watching it for sure. Cheer hard for us and keep it loud when good stuff happens!!! I havent heard too much about how fans are treated... but i have heard that people who have been to Nationwide that go to the Joe are surprised at how old and crappy the place is. Not meaning to put the wings or the city down or anything like that, they just really need an update/new stadium!!

It would be nice if a lot of CBJ fans went to make it a less hostile environment for games 1 and 2.  I won't be able to go.  Have to work.

Not so funny... the mayor of Indianapolis attended the Final Four since Indy is hosting the games next year... he got mugged on his way to his car after the championship game.......

Thanks for the responses, guys (well, except for dharker's response-ouch).  Ultimately I'm pretty sure we'll make it back to Cbus alive, though I'm quite certain my 12 year old will have learned some new curse words from the RW faithful, especially when we walk out of there victorious!!

If he's in public school I'm sure he knows most of them by now lol.

I'm going to Saturday's game, but I'm a Detroit fan from Michigan.  If any of you CBJers are going to be in Section 203B wave hello to me!  I'll be in the Holmstrom jersey!

I'm a Cedar Pt. guy, but I'm just glad I wasn't in Detroit for either game!

Same here!  I LOVE Cedar Point.  I've been to Disney and Universal and they are jokes compaired to Cedar Point.  The nice thing now is that they have so many freaking huge rollercoasters you don't really ever have to wait in line long for anything except Maverick and Top Thrill.
