Let's start an ongoing thread for new BJ and NHL Fans for upcoming games.  What should fans look for from the Jackets and their players (star players?  solid role guys?  enforcers I should look for?), and for upcoming opponents.........star players?  For now, it's the Sharks on Thursday night.

Well two players that many of us CBJ fans will be watching on the sharks are Malhotra and Shelly. These guys were two fan favorites when they played for us. Everyone knows about Nash, but the new guys who are improving every game that I a watching closely are Filitov, Voracek, and Brassard. If you really want to get into hockey put you self at places where they are. For example, last Friday my kids and myself went to Frog Bear and Wild Boar and had breakfast while many of the Jackets were interviewed. After their interview every player and coach was very approachable and excited about interacting with the fans.

We need to shut down Heatley and Thorton, thats where a guy like Palhson, on a line with Umberger can backcheck and disrupt the play. I'll also be looking for a quick transition game by our jackets, force a turn over and let players like Filatov, Huselius, Voracek, Nash, Brassard ect to make plays on 3-2 situations.

Should be a tough game tommorow

No doubt,

Joey T and Danny will be ready to go, starting off 1-2 isn't going to cut it in SJ. Plus this is the home opener for these guys. This will be a measuring stick for us guaranteed.

joe thornton and his line mates will be a big challenge as the puck control by them sometimes borderlines on the insane...jackets need a big game tonight as i think i read somewhere that they are something like 1-13 at the shark tank....we crapped on the canucks opening night, time to do the same in san jose.....

what's the odds of manny hitting someone tonight? ROFL

Obviously the team is stacked, and you always have to look out for the big names......the matchup with Marleau will be the story!  If Marleau is shut out, we win!
