The Juice is Loose!!!

« on: April 15, 2008, 06:39:00 AM »

The Crunch won their 15th straight game to clinch the 2nd spot and home ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs!!! these guys are playing some great hockey. They will be playing Manitoba starting Friday April 18th to begin their quest for the calder cup.

Quote
Derek MacKenzie and Duvie Westcott scored first period goals. Clay Wilson and Gilbert Brule added second period markers while Zenon Konopka netted a pair in the third and Derick Brassard finished off the game with his 15th of the year.

Good luck in the playoffs and bring some type of cup to the organization!!   cool even if it isn't Stanley's... we will get that one in the near future!!!

Crunch took game one of the series 2-1 in OT. here is part of the article.

Quote
Syracuse, N.Y. (April 18, 2008) - It took roughly 47 minutes for the Syracuse Crunch to register its first playoff goal that tied Game One of the best-of-seven series with the Manitoba Moose at 1-1.

It only took 30 seconds of overtime to put up the first win.

Joakim Lindstrom took a drop pass from Zenon Konopka and fired a shot from the right circle into the short side, high on the glove of Manitoba goalie Cory Schneider as Syracuse skated away with a hard fought 2-1 win in front of 5,107 jubilant fans at the Onondaga County War Memorial.

Keep it up Crunch!

The Crunch are currently winning the series 2-1. all three games so far have needed extra time to be decided!

How about Brassard dropping the gloves in game 1? Not sure if I like the fact that he did it, but I do like how it seems his attitude has changed!

yeah it looks like they will be playing a tired Toronto Marlies team that just went 7 games, they dont play until friday, so they should get some time to rest up. Brassard is looking pretty good 2 goals 3 assists in 6 games....not to shabby.

Well i think they came together there at the end of the season nicely. If some of the guys step up to the big team next year (Brassard, Sestito, Brule, Lindstrom, and Voracek from Halifax)they will bring some of that comraderie and winning ways to a team that has seen little of both. Which only means good things for the CBJ. My hat goes off to those guys and what they accomplished this year. And remember this name Andrei Plekahnov....i think he may make the big team next year, he looked good in the several games I saw on the NHL network, would be great for our Defense.
