Come back RNRshow, we will agree on something!  You have to take your shots and come back stronger, we all have at some point!  Disagreement and funny irritating comments are what we are all about, in the end, we all want the same thing beer  nooooooo not a cup of beer (well, o.k, hogg does), we want the CUP!

There is a significant piece of information we're missing... Were Hitch and Howson seriously considering sending him to the 'Cuse?  The answer has been hinted at, but we have not gotten positive confirmation to my knowledge. It's not unheard of to give your 1st pick playing time in ~10 games and then send him down to the AHL because it's realized he still has a ways to go in development.

Filatov refused to go to the 'Cuse and would rather go back to the KHL.  I sure hope that the situation is as Howson, Hitch, and Filatov are saying it is and that the KHL is essentially serving as the AHL for Niki's immediate development this season.

In my dream world, next year we'd see 3 russians in training camp giving it 100% and being completely committed to the NHL having forsaken the KHL entirely... Filatov, Zherdev (blast from the not so distant past) and... JAGR!  Then we would proceed to have 60 goal seasons from Nash, Filatov, Zherdev, and Voracek with Brass and Jagr having 80 point seasons.  But seriously...

777 is on dope......i love it, that is my kind of thinking  crazy

seriously, this was a way to let the kid have his way and play, and not make him "take his ball and go home" and possibly lose our leverage to trade him.

If we send him to the cuse, he acts immature, threatens some more, maybe even follows through and goes there.  that would leave us with nothing, no player, no money, no picks, and no real value for a trade.

This allows Nik to play with confidence, maybe show his ultimate talent, and still keep his value with NHL general managers.

Thought I read on the Dispatch site that the Jackets have received a trade offer now for Niki. But they werent interested in dealing him? I guess his value is low, so now might not be the best time.

i read that too....if he goes over and puts up big numbers in the KHL,the offers will only get better....scotty will be patient as always

Upon his return, Filatov scored 3G+2A in his first two KHL games and his team won both games, having lost the previous three...

Hope he keeps it up!  Should increase his trade value so we can get some return on our investment.  Would be nice to get one or a couple of usable young pieces for him.
