He needs to ride the pine.  How do you keep starting him when he is one of the worst in the league?  He looks like a junior league player in shoot outs unless they fire one at his chest.

I know it sucks, but Mason sucks.

He just brought back one of his goalie coaches from juniors, hopefully that can help him out.

Also our defense needs to learn how to skate, maybe they should take tips from this guy.

how the hell can he let in TWO 5-hole goals in the shootout? Hitch should have put Garon in for the shootout

it's just the most rediculous thing i have ever heard of, you're getting paid so much money and can't make a save that any minor league goalie should be able to make (at least the 2nd one)

Mason does suck right now, I agree, but there are two ways of looking at this.

One: You could bench him for the shootout and put in garon, and possibly win. Good for the short run, but here are the problems:
- Garon is not going to be ready to come in and play a shootout after sitting all game. Its not really fair to him.
- Once Hitch and the team begins to show a lack of confidence in Mason, I doubt that will help anything....the last thing you want to do it get in your goalie's head.

So you say, make Mason be the backup. Well thats fine if you are willing to continue to pay Garon for the head job after his contract is up. But wouldn't you rather let Mason continue to play, to learn and get experience, so that he can continue to be our man?

The sophomore slump is a reality and I think we should stick with Mason until he pulls out of it. It can't last forever.

Mase HAS had some floozies get by him, and he HAS been playing sub par as of late.

BUT......

consider the team he has in front of him lately...
defensive turnovers
bad passes
poor front of the net play

We can't continue to bash Mase for his performance when he has a bad game / week, we should rather focus on the positives in his game

call the glove a dyson, cuz he's got a crazy glove hand
he gets hung out to dry and still makes some remarkable saves
great positionally.

I still think Mase is the man.... he's just "under construction right now"
