Hello everyone,

I recently got discharged from the Marines (a medical discharge, after two months of training  bang head ). I had to find somewhere to go to school, so I applied to The Ohio State University in Columbus - my dream school and institution I respect for the opportunities it provided my family, particularly my grandfather, who was also religious about the football team and influenced me much the same way.  Fortunately, which my grades and test scores, it is also very easy for me to get in, and I am certain I will be a freshman next autumn.  I am very excited about attending, even if my parents say I could aim for "better" schools.  Whatever...

Anyway, I'm from NYC.  I am a die-hard Rangers fan, but seeing as though I am going to be in Columbus for a long time, I am eager to be indoctrinated as a Blue Jackets fan as well and attend many games.  I look forward to being in a new arena (as much as I love the Garden, it is very expensive!) and meeting new fans.

As an aside, I am also looking forward to going to a lot of Columbus Crew games.  Their soccer-specific stadium and loyal fan base have always made me jealous.  I freaking hate the sell-out-Meadowlands Red Bull New York.  I hate them so much that I am in an organization dedicated to bringing an MLS team to Brooklyn that actually has a local flavor, is actually IN NEW YORK, and is involved in the community instead of being run from freaking AUSTRIA! [/rant].  Besides my hatred of Red Bull New York, I stick by my New York teams.

Apologies for the long introduction; looking forward to joining the Blue Jackets community,

Six Train

Welcome!

I think you'll find that the Jackets fans are very much like the Rangers fans but in a smaller local setting.  I hope you enjoy yourself while at OSU and take to the city well.  It can be disorienting coming from a large city to a city which is surrounded by farms.
