Well, thought I'd better do a proper introduction since I've been posting around here! As I said in my one post, I'm a new fan of about two years. I grew up in southeast Ohio way before the Jackets were around. Something that always puzzled me was the fact that our sports channels were all Pittsburgh. So my bitterness of not getting to watch my favorite baseball team, the Reds, really affected me with not giving hockey a chance. I didn't understand the rules and didn't care to. As well as the team was in another state!
So I moved closer to Columbus about five years ago, but hockey was still not even a blip on my radar screen. Then, while recovering from back surgery I was flipping through the guide on my cable box and I saw in the title "Columbus Blue Jackets". I said to myself, "Hey that's right. Columbus has a hockey team. That's pretty cool. I'll watch this until I get bored. Nothing else better on." I was getting into it! It was actually fun to watch! And they're a hometown team! Wait a minute. The whistle just blew and the announcers said it was offsides. What does that mean? So, I looked up the rules and was hooked! I went to about five games last year and I hope to go to more this season and.....
I WILL CARRY THE FLAG!
